  5.                 IMPORTANT INSTALLATION NOTICE

  9. The OVERDRIVE-COMBO is a combined PCMCIA unit which consists of
  10. an OVERDRIVE-CD CDROM drive and an OVERDRIVE-HD hard drive.  The
  11. OVERDRIVE-CD CDROM case is attached to the OVERDRIVE-HD hard
  12. drive case through a data cable which plugs into the 25-pin SUB-D
  13. connector located at the rear of the hard drive case.  The
  14. OVERDRIVE-HD case is in the line of the Amiga 1200 case as a
  15. sidecar and fits directly into the PCMCIA port located on the
  16. left side of the Amiga 1200.

  19.     HARDWARE INSTALLATION
  20.      ---------------------

  22. In order for your COMBO unit to operate properly, the following
  23. connections must be made carefully while your Amiga is switched
  24. off :
  25.  
  26.    1 - The OVERDRIVE-HD unit is powered from the 23-pin SUB-D
  27. FLOPPY port at the back of the A1200.  Connect one end of the
  28. SUB-D pass-through cable supplied with your OVERDRIVE-HD to this
  29. port and plug the jack at the other end into the power supply
  30. socket at the back of the OVERDRIVE-HD unit.
  31.  
  32.    2 - Connect the data cable attached to the OVERDRIVE-COMBO
  33. unit into the 25-pin SUB-D connector at the rear of the
  34. OVERDRIVE-HD unit.
  35.  
  36.    3 - Plug the wall-mount power adaptor, if any, to the mains
  37. and plug its power jack into the power supply socket at the back
  38. of the OVERDRIVE-CD unit (not all models of OVERDRIVE-CD are
  39. delivered with an external power adaptor).

  41.    4 - Finally, you must connect one end of the RCA sound cable
  42. to the "AUDIO-IN" RCA sockets at the back of the OVERDRIVE-CD and
  43. the other end to the "AUDIO L-R" sockets at the back of your
  44. Amiga.  BOTH ENDS OF THE SOUND CABLE MUST BE CONNECTED IN ORDER
  45. FOR THE OVERDRIVE-CD TO OPERATE PROPERLY.

  47.    MAKE SURE THAT THE 4 CONNECTIONS ABOVE, INCLUDING THAT OF THE
  48. SOUND CABLE, ARE DULY MADE BEFORE POWERING UP YOUR AMIGA.

  51.     SOFTWARE INSTALLATION

  54.    You may then proceed with the installation of both the
  55. OVERDRIVE-HD software and the OVERDRIVE-CD software which work
  56. independently and come on separate disks.  Refer to the manual of
  57. each product for more information.

  59.    To install the OVERDRIVE-CD software, you may either run the
  60. "OVERCD-1200" script which automatically detects your hardware
  61. configuration and proceed with instllation, or the "COMBO-CD"
  62. script which forces the installation of the COMBO-CD software
  63. only.  Resort to the "COMBO-CD" script in case the standard
  64. installation was not successful for some reason or other.
