OVERDRIVE-COMBO
---------------
IMPORTANT INSTALLATION NOTICE
-----------------------------
The OVERDRIVE-COMBO is a combined PCMCIA unit which consists of
an OVERDRIVE-CD CDROM drive and an OVERDRIVE-HD hard drive. The
OVERDRIVE-CD CDROM case is attached to the OVERDRIVE-HD hard
drive case through a data cable which plugs into the 25-pin SUB-D
connector located at the rear of the hard drive case. The
OVERDRIVE-HD case is in the line of the Amiga 1200 case as a
sidecar and fits directly into the PCMCIA port located on the
left side of the Amiga 1200.
HARDWARE INSTALLATION
---------------------
In order for your COMBO unit to operate properly, the following
connections must be made carefully while your Amiga is switched
off :
1 - The OVERDRIVE-HD unit is powered from the 23-pin SUB-D
FLOPPY port at the back of the A1200. Connect one end of the
SUB-D pass-through cable supplied with your OVERDRIVE-HD to this
port and plug the jack at the other end into the power supply
socket at the back of the OVERDRIVE-HD unit.
2 - Connect the data cable attached to the OVERDRIVE-COMBO
unit into the 25-pin SUB-D connector at the rear of the
OVERDRIVE-HD unit.
3 - Plug the wall-mount power adaptor, if any, to the mains
and plug its power jack into the power supply socket at the back
of the OVERDRIVE-CD unit (not all models of OVERDRIVE-CD are
delivered with an external power adaptor).
4 - Finally, you must connect one end of the RCA sound cable
to the "AUDIO-IN" RCA sockets at the back of the OVERDRIVE-CD and
the other end to the "AUDIO L-R" sockets at the back of your
Amiga. BOTH ENDS OF THE SOUND CABLE MUST BE CONNECTED IN ORDER
FOR THE OVERDRIVE-CD TO OPERATE PROPERLY.
MAKE SURE THAT THE 4 CONNECTIONS ABOVE, INCLUDING THAT OF THE
SOUND CABLE, ARE DULY MADE BEFORE POWERING UP YOUR AMIGA.
SOFTWARE INSTALLATION
---------------------
You may then proceed with the installation of both the
OVERDRIVE-HD software and the OVERDRIVE-CD software which work
independently and come on separate disks. Refer to the manual of
each product for more information.
To install the OVERDRIVE-CD software, you may either run the
"OVERCD-1200" script which automatically detects your hardware
configuration and proceed with instllation, or the "COMBO-CD"
script which forces the installation of the COMBO-CD software
only. Resort to the "COMBO-CD" script in case the standard
installation was not successful for some reason or other.
